Watchmakers Project

This watch has no name on the dial and the movement is Swiss but without any makers marks. It is cased in 9 carat gold so was probably assembled by an English jeweller.

This is surprisingly common with pocket watches as they where such a common item at the time.

The watch is a half hunter pocket watch which means it has a cover that opens, but the cover has a window so the time can be viewed even if the cover is closed. Full hunter pocket watches have a solid cover without a window, they where originally designed to protect the face of the watch when for example the owner was out hunting.
