Watchmakers Project

The Jeager LeCoultre Mark 11 is a rare and unusual watch issued to RAF pilots in WW2. This watch came in to us in a very sorry state, the case had been highly polished and not its original satin finish.

The movement inside the watch had been serviced very badly in the past using incorrect parts and some parts were badly damaged. We made some new parts and corrected the mistakes of previous repairers.

The only non original area we did not touch was the dial which at some point had been badly re-lumed along with the hands. Both the watchmaker and customer decided to leave them as they currently are as the dial and hands are in a very delicate state due to their age. If the dial and hands had been in better condition we could have re-lumed with an aged compound to match an original dial of the correct period of issue.
